“Weaklings"? Thats the word Donald J. Trump chose today — not for the Clintons or Bidens, not for the Democrats, not for Epstein’s globe-trotting perverts or the handlers who let him slip into the convenient ether of “suicide.” No, that insult was reserved for us — those who voted for him. In a Truth Social post this morning, Trump stated that those of us still asking about the Epstein Files are no longer welcome among his supporters. The man who once swaggered into packed rallies pledging to drain swamps and lock people up now can’t be bothered to acknowledge a scandal that helped fuel his reelection.

To be clear, I voted for Trump in 2016, in 2020, again in 2024, and ran a Gays for Trump Chapter in South Carolina. I took punches—literal and metaphorical—defending this man in spaces around the country. I was there on January 6th, on the steps of the US Capitol, demanding electoral integrity on Trumps behalf. But now, years later, voters like me are being told we’re "weaklings" for wondering why the only thing to come out of the Epstein investigation was a scapegoat and a stack of redacted papers.

This isn’t hurtful. It’s infuriating. It reeks of desperation — not that of a man who's being unfairly attacked, but the desperation of someone who may have found themselves closer to the evidence than expected. Trump didn’t just distance himself from the Epstein case in recent posts; he shamed his most loyal supporters for daring to ask why. He told us to get over it and shut the hell up. That should worry anyone, whether they’re MAGA to the core or just a Epstein-curious Democrat.

We were told for years that a reckoning was coming. That the swamp was deeper than we knew. That Epstein’s black book would be the Rosetta Stone of elite corruption. We waited. Through the ridiculousness of Q Anon and Lin Wood, through Russia Gate and the Steele Dossier, through nearly 40 convictions, and now through Pam Bondi’s overt gaslighting. Now that we’ve reached the final act of the sage, the only revelation is the people who told us to keep reading have tossed the book in the fire and walked away.

There’s a certain irony to Trump calling us the weak ones. We’re not the ones running from questions and throwing dirt on bodies. We’re not the ones with decades of photo ops with pretending we hardly knew the guy. If anything, we’re the ones still showing spine. Asking hard questions of the people we support takes more courage than playing Follow-The-Leader.

Call us what you want, Mr. President. Weakling. Past supporter. Betrayer of the cause. But don’t think us unfaithful. Our loyalty was never to you, but to the message and mission you have represented. Most of us still count ourselves among your supporters for all the good that you have done and are doing, but you’re mistaken if you believe you control us.

Many Conservatives, Republicans, and independents who have supported Trump thus far, however, have decided to jump off the Trump Train. And who can blame them? They’ve committed more than most of them ever wanted to in supporting the President, then when the rubber finally meets the road he told them they’re weak and declared he no longer wants their support.

They’ve heard you, Mr. President, loud and clear.
